Our research showed that this location for our film was good idea, because leafs making a little bit sense delusion. We can do whatever we want for our film in this area, because not many amount of people overpass us. Another advantage, we have less sound of the cars, which didn't interrupted to finish our film by having a noise sounds.

Initial ideas

                                                                      Initial ideas

In our film we will use some stereotypes like "every asian good at fighting" or every main protagonist has big amount of muscles, to knock out his/her enemies. After our own idea brainstorm we made an initial ideas which is not expectation things like in our brainstorm blog. Choosing woods as the main location was a good idea for our opinion, because the main character in our film can hide from his enemy.

Own film idea brainstorm

This is our brainstorm ideas which we will use in our film. We might use dramatic and intense soundtrack to make a thrilling effect on viewer, because the genre of our film "Knocked Out" is action-thriller.

Uploaded YouTube videos of openings

                                                           Taken opening scene

This the graph of the age audience who went to watch this film. We can see that shows that most of the people who watched this film are male. They are middle class workers. The graph shows that 46% are female audience, which means that female audience are interested in this film.

The scene shows the main character, which was played by Liam Neeson. We can see that camera shows a close up to his face to show the importance of the telephone dialogue between his daughter. Furthermore, we can see another close up to main character's daughter. She is hiding under the bed while having a phone conversation with her father.
The scene where the thugs the entering the bedroom, the camera shows only the foot of one of the outlaw. This scene shows the first person view of the this girl and horrifying effect on the viewer. Then we see the close up to girl's face where she holds her telephone. After, the camera shows first person view. where we can see that thugs going to another room and the viewer is happy that bad guys are gone. Mise-en-scene shows a black shoes and trousers of the bad guy and it confirms the stereotype about casual clothes.

Unfortunately, another bad guy is grabbing his daughter and she loudly screams. The graph shows that most of the people who watched this film are people around 15-24 and 25-34. This shows that film are interesting more for adults than to very young generation of people.

Opening titles analysed in detail

The title "Force" uses the grey color with a bit red color. which represents the death, blood and destruction. This titles has the dark-grey colored background. The background looks like the wall. Also, we can see a concrete below the image, which might be someone was killed in the night time in the street.
The title "The Prestige" has the dark background, which represents the mystery. This name might be good for the thriller genre film. The title has the light-blue color, but the title "the" has the white color.

Another title which has the name "SE7EN" uses the shadow effect. It has scary effect, because it has the shade effect and the titles are not clean. The titles looks like damaged  and it has the number "7". Except of writing "seven" they wrote "SE7EN".

Institution for our film

This is would be our intro, for our film, which would be called "KRC Productions". But, we wil use another name with another logo, which will be called "Red Tree Productions".

We have decided to put an extra institution to our media opening scene. We downloaded an image with red tree and put this to paint. We then added the words "Red Tree Productions" below the tree by using the text tool. We the used the square tool to create a red border around the logo. Then, i used the "fill with color" programme to show the background black. In our opening scene the logo becomes into black and white color. We did this by adding two of the same logo into the beginning of our timeline. Finally, we add an effect of changing color from black and white to colored version of our logo.

Costume and location research

We will use dark-brown coat to make main protagonist to look more mysterious, which make main character to be shown as a serious person. Which is the stereotypes in thriller genre.
This location is park, which is near to our school. We choose this location, because in one of the scenes, the main protagonist will hide in the tree to escape from his follower (antagonist).

Mood board

Script

This is our script for our film, this will be used to remember our lines and to see what next is to be filmed. This is our basic script which helps us to create our scenes and basic dialogue. My favourite is the scene when the Kevin takes off his hood, because it impresses our main protagonist and he says "It can't be". Another favourite scene is the scene when the antagonist knocks out our hero and the camera goes black, which creates effect of mystery to the viewer.

Thriller genre analysis

In thriller we usually see detectives and genre are action-thriller or horror thriller stories. The main protagonist in thrillers are usually calm and brave, but do not have big muscles like in action films.
For example in action films protagonist usually is men. but in thriller it could be any gender category.
In many thriller genre the soundtrack is always intense and dramatic and sometimes with action to show chase or fight scenes like in Inception, where the soundtrack was made by Hans Zimmer.

Action films usually aimed for middle aged men, who just wants to relax from their boring work. Action films are trying to show main protagonists muscly body, to be an inspiration for every middle aged and young generation of man. The thing which makes action film, is explosions, that's why is always fun to watch to look at action cliches and relax. Furthermore, they are showing foreign people evil, so this is cliche of action films. Another cliche is that, rich people always bad, which audience wants their head to be chopped. Problem of action films is their plot, action films have not interesting story to show main character's feelings, but audience usually doesn't want nail biting drama stories. In conclusion, action films is just a way to relax and have fun.
                                                           The Expendables 2 analysis

The trailer opens with a long shot of the desert and then we cut to shots of tanks rolling through towards a smoking city.  There is a cut to a close up of Sylvester Stallone so we know his character is important.  Another shot that stands out involves a long shot of the helicopter - this is meant to be exciting because we can see another important characters in that film. Film uses many close ups to every main characters like Jason Statham or Jet Li. Also we can see that foreign people showed very badly which is cliche in action film. Explosions making this film very exciting to watch it, because it is another cliche of action genre. Another scene is long shot when villains trying to hide in the building, then we can see close up to Stallone, where he is breaking the wall of the smoky building and villains getting killed. Sometimes we can see extreme close ups of main characters to see there emotions in the battle. The scene when Jason and Sylvester talking to each other, film using medium shots to show there dialogue.

Sound is very driving and rushing,

Rush opening 2 minutes

                                                         "Rush" opening scene
Opening scene starts with person who is looking into the sky and he is preparing for his car race. Camera uses middle shots to show workers of formula 1. Mise en scene is how racers feel before their important race. Then camera shows crowds of people, after we can see near shot of Niki Lauda to feel how serious he's for his race. The main protagonist looking into the sky, which makes him to look serious for his serious race. Camera showing crowds of people, but we can not see them properly, because we can see only main protagonist's face. Also, the mise-en-scene is that people are wearing a car race uniform.

Romantic comedy convention

In the trailer we can see that the target audience of romantic comedy films is young teenagers, it is usually girls. In beginning of trailer we can see that Hugh Grant and his silly friend  having conversation  in the library, where the Julia Roberts hiding behind books wearing sun glasses and pretending reading a book. The next scene is that Hugh finishes his conversation with his friend and starts talking with Julia. Couple talk about their love interests with some funny jokes, to show audience the genre of the film.

Angle rules

                                                                        The 180 rule
This schematic shows the axis between two characters and the 180° arc on which cameras has this postion. When cutting from the green arc to the red arc, the characters switch places on the screen. You can this rule in a conversation scene between two important characters, a straight line can be imagined running between.

                                                          Close Up

Soundtrack research

                                                               Soundtrack research

This soundtrack is from non copyright which is the thriller soundtrack. We could this soundtrack in our opening two minutes of our film. This soundtrack's sound is very mysterious which gives thrilling and suspense feeling. We needed thrilling soundtrack to prepare viewer for serious film and plot.

This is another soundtrack, which we will use in our film "Knocked Out". This song is very dramatic and intense and we will add this soundtrack in our chase and action scenes.
